Born in Korea and raised in the United States, Marissa Webb has always had an intimate and creative relationship with fashion. Her design aesthetic blends and juxtaposes elements of architecture and nature by mixing highly structured, tailored pieces with whimsical softness and flow. Marissa studied at FIT and flourished at J. Crew, where she remained for over a decade serving in various design roles including Head of Womenswear and Accessories Design.
The launch of her eponymous label at the Spring 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week gave voice to her personality and exemplified her individual style. Marissa has continued to employ a playful feminine elegance with a cool masculine edge in her subsequent collections. Each collection is created to appeal to the woman who appreciates timeless fashion but maintains the confidence to incorporate contrasting and unexpected pieces. In April 2014, Marissa was appointed Creative Director and Executive Vice President of Design at Banana Republic. Consequently, Gap Inc. joined Bedrock Manufacturing as a minority investor in Marissa Webb. In October 2015, she transitioned into the role of Creative Adviser at Banana Republic. As she welcomes her new position there, Marissa continues to simultaneously embrace her growing eponymous label.
